Lavandula x intermedia 'Provence'

Lavandula x intermedia (French Lavender)

French Lavender

Spikes of 2-6" long highly scented lavender flowers, repeat blooms, if cut back. Leaves are narrow grey-green and very fragrant. A larger variety than Munstead; great cut flower.

Growing & Maintenance Tips
Full sun, well-drained soil. Plants grown in heavy soils will have soft growth, which can create a hardiness problem; tender perennial. Also use in rock gardens, cut flowers (plant in masses or small hedge), and used for sachets and potpourris.

Interesting Information
Lavandula is Latin for 'to wash', referring to the use of lavender in the bath. Oil of lavender used in perfume, is distilled from the flowers of true lavender. Flowers and leaves are used in potpourri, oils, vinegars, flower arranging, perfumes and medicinal applications.
