Miscanthus sinensis 'Gracillimus'

Miscanthus sinensis (Maiden Grass)

Maiden Grass

Pink-red plumes changing to tan in winter. Fine grey-green foliage.

Growing & Maintenance Tips
Prefers moist, rich soil in full sun. Japanese silver grass makes an effective tall background, hedge, or screen. Its large-flowering accent provides exceptional fall color. Well-suited to water gardens at or near the water's edge.

Interesting Information
From Greek mischos, stalk, and anthos, flower referring to the stalked spikelets. This is one of the oldest maiden grass cultivers in the nursery trade. This is a very fine textured grass.
