Clusters of pink or white flowers. Pale green ovate fuzzy leaves, flavor is similar to but milder than oregano with a hint of balsam.

Performs best in a well-drained, alkaline soil in full sun. Stronger flavor when grown in a nutrient rich soil. Uses are: culinary, aromatic and antiseptic properties that benefit the skin, great for Italian and Spanish dishes, Mint family. Also good in vinegars, soups, herb butters, and stuffing.

The ancients revered sweet marjoram as a gentle, calming herb. The flavor of this herb is strongest if cutting is done right before the flower buds open.
