Rudbeckia, named after botanist Olaf Rudbeck, (1630-1702), professor at Upsala, Sweden and teacher of Linnaeus, and possibly also for his son, also named Olaf and also a botany professor at Upsala (1660-1740). This species is a native parent of Rudbeckia 'Goldsturm'. Attracts butterflies.
