Echinacea purpurea 'Hot Papaya'
Cone Flower
Blooms emerge with florescent, papaya colored ray petals and a deep orange-yellow cone. Hot Papaya matures with rich, spicy orange ray petals that are topped by a double, reddish-orange pom pom. Each pom pom has a remarkable papaya colored halo in the center that grows as it ages. Long, dark green foliage.
Growing & Maintenance Tips
Full sun, drought tolerant, best in a well-drained soil. Light shade will enhance the richer colors in hot weather. Border, cut flower, and naturalized area. Soft-textured plants should be planted nearby to offset the rigid texture of the coneflower.
Interesting Information
Echinacea comes from the Greek word echinos meaning hedgehog, referring to the flowers' spiky central cone.
