Vaccinium 'Patriot Blueberry'
Highbush Blueberry
Dainty, waxy, bell-shaped, white flowers are followed by large blue blueberries, which ripen in mid-season (mid to late July). 'Patriot' has large fruit that is nice, firm and flavorful. The berry is formed on tight clusters. Ovate, dark green leaves turn attractive shades of red in fall.
Growing & Maintenance Tips
Very effective when planted in shrub borders or as part of less formal shrub plantings. Also makes an excellent hedge with the added benefits of summer fruit which can be harvested or left for birds. Best grown in acidic, organically rich, medium to wet, well-drained soils in full sun to part shade. Shallow roots need constant moisture and good drainage.
