Athyrium filix-femina
Lady Fern
Light green finely textured fronds, easy vigorous grower, non-evergreen.
Growing & Maintenance Tips
Performs best in rich fairly moist soil in a woodland setting. Combines well with other ferns, is useful as a background plant and looks good when massed along a stream.
Interesting Information
If lady fern has a disadvantage, it is that the fronds may become tattered and blotched in late summer. However, this condition is probably offset by the gracefulness seen in May and June.
