Carex doe well in shade something that is not common to true ornamental grasses. Needs moist to wet soil, needs ample water in hot dry locations. This sedge looks great when planted in masses. It is also great with small water features and can be planted directly in the pond. Also suitable for bog gardens and bog containers.

Interesting Information
Carex from Greek keiro, to cut, alluding to the leaf margins which are often sharp. This grass is a cool season grass, very slow spreader. Season of interst is June to winter.
