Hakonechloa macra 'All Gold'

Hakonechloa macra (Japanese Forest Grass)

Japanese Forest Grass

Airy flowers in August are hidden by foliage. Golden cascading blades.

Growing & Maintenance Tips
Best grown in part to full shade, and fertile, moist, well-drained soil. This is a choice plant for the woodland garden and containers. Looks great beside a pond. It brightens the darker areas of the garden. Provides color and interest in the front of the border.

Interesting Information
This is a new introduction for 2003. This grass is slow to establish but well worth the effort. Named after Hakone, a region in Japan where they can be found growing wild in shady areas.
