Corymbs of many daisy-like bright yellow flowers with brown to black centers. Serrated lance-shaped leaves run down winged stems.
Growing & Maintenance Tips
Medium-wet soils, in full to partial shade. Best used at the bak of teh border or in the center of island beds. Also used for a cutflower. Moist areas in meadows, prairies, ditches, along streams.
Interesting Information
Helenium, named either for the Greeek Helenus, son of Priam or Helena of Troy, the cause of the Trojan war; autumnale, Latin, "of the fall". Used to cure head colds.
