Each morning the cutting garden wakes with more surprises in store. Our zinnias are slowly unfolding, while the larkspur and poppies stand by in full bloom. We’ve had two dianthus open just this morning and the nigella is filled with buds waiting to make their debut.  Susannah attributes a slight sleepiness in the garden to the nice gradual spring we had. Our blooms are running behind schedule about 1-2 weeks (compared to last year) but everyone is okay with this. The plants look healthier and stronger and they will be ready for a long productive summer. Yesterday the celosia was planted and today Susannah will deadhead the larkspur and poppies to help elongate their short growing season. It’s nice to see some beautiful colors peeking through and we eagerly anticipate the next wave!
