Cafe Osage Recipe
by Chef Scott Davis
This pancake is at the same time simple(fool proof even) and a crowd pleasing centerpiece. I think it might have the best effort to satisfaction ratio possible.
serves 4-6
prep time 5 minutes
cook time 20 minutes
total time 25 minutes
5 Tablespoons Unsalted Butter
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
1 Cup Milk
6 Eggs
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 1/2 Teaspoons Vanilla(optional)
Zest of 1 Lemon(optional)
Arrange butter around a glass 9×13 baking dish and place on center rack of oven. Switch oven on and heat to 425.
While the oven and pan are heating up, put remaining ingredients in a blender. Mix vigorously for 30 seconds, scrapping the sides if needed.
Once the oven has reached 425, carefully pour all the batter into the center of the baking dish. Bake for 20-22 minutes.
The Bismarck is ready when the sides and bottom have turned a golden brown. best served immediately, directly from the pan. Enjoy simply with maple syrup or get creative with your favorite pancake toppings.
